Just in case you haven’t noticed, World Gymnastics has undergone a face lift.

Hooray, yippie, huzzah and whatnot.

Looking forward to this week, #3 Utah is taking on #8 Michigan in Salt Lake City. I’m excited for this meet. Michigan’s Kylee Botterman is coming off a BRILLIANT showing this weekend against Stanford and Nebraska, scoring the season’s first 10.000 with her amazing Yurchenko Layout Full. Utah is coming off a season high team score of 196.975 against #13 Washington, with Corrie Lothrop scoring 9.925 on the Floor Exercise, Gael Mackie scoring 9.900 on the Uneven Bars and Mary Beth Lofgren scoring 9.900 on the Balance Beam. It is tough to say who will win this one, as both teams are incredibly strong and pretty evenly matched.

#6 Alabama will be hosting #31 Kentucky in Tuscaloosa and the Tide should win this one handily. However, Kentucky is historically strong on the Floor Exercise where they are ranked #7 against Alabama’s #3 ranking on the event, so we should watch for their scores to be impressive and their routines exciting.

#19 Denver is playing host to #10 Nebraska. Denver is #9 on the Vault where Nebraska is #5. Nebraska should win this one, but Denver should put up a fight.

#1 Florida is hosting #22 Auburn in an SEC matchup, which Florida should handily win. Auburn should put up decent fight on the Balance Beam where they are ranked #8 while Florida is ranked #1.

#5 Georgia will be hosted by #21 LSU in Baton Rouge. It is tough to say who will win this matchup as LSU is getting stronger every week and Georgia seems to be self-destructing with every pivot turn, which is incredibly unfortunate for the GymDogs.
